Service Description

How Does Botox Work? Botox blocks signals from the nerves to the muscles. The injected muscle can no longer contract, which causes the wrinkles to relax and soften. It is most often used on forehead lines, crow's feet (lines around the eye) and frown lines. Botulinum Toxin Botox is a protein made from botulinum toxin that the bacterium Clostridium botulinum produces. This is the same toxin that causes botulism. Botox is a toxin, but when people use it correctly and in small doses, it has a number of medical and cosmetic uses. Botox injections are noted primarily for the ability to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles. They're also used to treat conditions such as neck spasms (cervical dystonia), excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), an overactive bladder and lazy eye. Botox injections may also help prevent chronic migraines. Botox has been so successful because it is so simple. When it is injected, it blocks the signals from the nerve to the muscle. The muscle is paralysed and the skin doesn't move, resulting in fewer or shallower wrinkles.
